Simon Blendis - Director/Soloist

The fabulous KP Festival Chamber Orchestra
drawing its musicians from London's Top Orchestras will perform Vivaldi's much loved Four Seasons. Soloist in this colourful and descriptive set of concertos will be the distinguished violinist Simon Blendis, who will bring the sounds of each season to life, be it birdsong, thunderstorm, icy cold weather or drunken stumbles.

Simon will first direct the orchestra in the beautiful Abdelazer Suite, incidental music to a rather gruesome play from 1676 that sounds delightfully fresh and heartwarming.

The final item on the programme will be the world premiere of a piece especially composed for the Festival by the brilliant composer Jeff Moore. Inspired by life in winter on Orkney, the composer's home, An Orkney Winter tells the story of the cold, of wild storms, folk music by the fire, in a musical celebration of life on the island. The wonderful
KP Festival Youth Orchestra will join the professionals on stage in this exuberant grand finale.

A truly unforgettable experience!
