October 2019 saw the launch of our new Kidbrooke Park Music Festival.
And what a festival it was! A true celebration of music bringing performances of the highest calibre to Forest Row.
Alex Rolton opened the weekend with an intimate performance of Bach's solo cello suites, after which the village came to live life with children playing busking on their instruments in various locations. An unforgettable performance in the Village Hall of I Piano delighted young and old with a magical story and brilliant piano playing. To crown the day, the young and vibrant international European Chamber Ensemble gave a concert in the Theatre of Michael Hall School and touched us all with their outstanding performance.
Sunday brought the famous London Mozart Players to our village to perform a programme of much- loved favourites that brought a smile (and an occasional tear) to our faces. The final piece in this concert written by the composer Jeff Moore and included around 90 children playing their instruments, as well as a group of young singers. What a fantastic way to inspire the next generation of musicians!
The success of this Festival is urging us on to make plans for this year's Kidbrooke Park Music Festival. The Festival Team has been busy planning and details will soon be published on another fantastic programme of concerts. Make a note in your diaries to keep the weekend of October 31st/November 1st free!
In the meantime, check our website for our spectacular fundraising concert at the Ashdown Park Hotel on Sunday, April 26th, at 3 pm. I hope to see you there!
