About the event

AFTERNOON TEA IN SUSSEX AT ASHDOWN PARK HOTEL & COUNTRY CLUB

WITH THE LONDON MOZART PLAYER STRING TRIO

Afternoon tea, that most quintessential of English customs, is a relatively new tradition. Whilst the custom of drinking tea dates back to the third millennium BC in China and was popularised in England during the 1660s by King Charles II and his wife the Portuguese Infanta Catherine de Braganza, it was not until the mid 19th century that the concept of ‘Afternoon Tea’ first appeared.

To experience the best of the afternoon tea, indulge yourself with a trip to ASHDOWN PARK HOTEL**** where we pride ourselves on maintaining the full tradition of Afternoon Tea in exquisite surroundings, although long gowns and gloves are optional!

Enjoy a wonderful afternoon with the London Mozart Player String Trio at the spectacular Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club in the tranquil Ashdown forest.

Be transported by the beautiful music of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms in the magnificent chapel of this historic building.

All the proceeds from this concert will go towards enabling the LMP to perform in the 2019 Kidbrooke Park Music Festival and to work with a large group of children in preparing a new composition by Jeff Moore. As well as giving us a wonderful concert the orchestra will perform this new commission with young string players, wind players and even young singers. A fantastic opportunity for the local children to be enthused whilst playing their own instrument; to experience the incredible excitement of playing with a professional orchestra and, above all, to be inspired.

See you there!
