Tama Matheson's acclaimed music-drama, Johann Sebastian – The Life and Passions of J.S. Bach – a dramatic retelling of the extraordinary life of the world’s greatest musician.
Tama Matheson has an extraordinary ability to get under the skin of a composer and bring their character to light. His performance of Johann Sebastian is a desperately moving, often funny, and brings fascinating insight into the life of one of the world’s most indispensable artists.
This powerful dramatisation will be interspersed with Bach's exquisite music, performed by Martha Jones mezzo - soprano, violinist Sijie Chen, harpsichordist Steven Devine, cellist Alexander Rolton, and the KPFestival Choir.
Director, actor and writer Tama Matheson is Artistic Director of The Brisbane Shakespeare Festival and has worked as a freelance director in both theatre and opera around the world. He is an award-winning stage actor and has played a variety of TV roles, including EastEnders and Heartbeat. Tama has written several plays and one man shows including a series of collaborative plays about the lives of great composers.
