Ella Rundle

Cellist

Described as a performer of ‘infectious passion’ (Ottawa Citizen) Ella Rundle is in demand as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the UK, Europe, and further abroad. She has toured extensively with various chamber ensembles and has been broadcasted on BBC Radio 3, Portuguese Radio RTP, and SWR Germany. She has been invited to perform at festivals such as Fête de la Forêt Musicale (France), Festival Pontiac Enchante (Ottawa), Birdfoot Festival (New Orleans), Thy (Denmark), and Viana (Portugal). 

 

Ella is prize winner of the 2015 Philip and Dorothy Green Award for Young Concert Artists; as 2013/14 Tillett Trust Young Artist she gave debut performances in venues such as the Purcell Room, Snape Maltings, Holywell Music Rooms and Wigmore Hall.

 

Ella has  been a member of the Philharmonia Orchestra since 2015. She has also played as guest principal cello in orchestras such as the BBC Philharmonic, City Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and Royal Northern Sinfonia. 

 

An avid chamber musician she has been a member of Trio Klein since 2020 and was also a decade long member of Cellphony.

 

She plays a Rapheal & Antonio Gagliano 1810 cello donated in part by and anonymous donor.
